Welcome to Languedoc Gundog Training Kennels

We take great pride in producing a well rounded and well trained dog to be your shooting companion or test and trial winner. We are able to sit down with you to discuss your specific requirements and tailor our training to you.

Or would you rather take on the training yourself? Learning with your dog? We can assist with this, offering 1-1 lessons, group training classes as well as taking you and your dog into the first days in the field.

If this is all new to you - don't panic! We also specialise in training you in the full aspects of gundog work and just as importantly the field craft and etiquette to go with it - whether you have bought your first Spaniel and are new to beating, or maybe have a Labrador you wish to take with you on your first driven day - We can help.

Puppy Head Start
Puppy Head start is for young puppy's whose owners would like to give their pup the best start it could possibly receive.  During this time the pup will be introduced to water, birds, gun shots, other dogs and socialized around people.  Pups are encouraged to retrieve both on land and in water and will begin to have the basic obedience taught to them. Although this is a young age to start training the training is based on the pup's attention level and begins to form a good working attitude. Puppy's are given a lot of free time and are out in the field daily to get accustom to the sounds and environment while the older dogs work.

Obedience Training
Obedience training is done with every dog every day.  Obedience is the foundation of a well mannered and sociable working dog.  Obedience training will cover sitting, heel, kennel/house manners and recall.  On and off lead. We can also tailor these services to incorporate any specific requirements you may have such as roadside manners etc.

Gun Dog Training

Gun dog training is geared towards the people who want a solid and reliable hunting partner.   There training will cover almost every aspect of a shooting situation.  They will see and hear on a daily basis live game, multiple gun shots, and realistic training situations amongst distractions.  They will also see blinds, long and short land and water retrieves.  At this level a lot of emphasis is placed into marking.  Also at this level they will begin to get the basic handling skills and direction work. We also ensure a well rounded dog that maintains character and drive.

More advanced work is covered at the owners request and once again we tailor this for your own specific needs - whether for dogging in, peg dog or a dog solely for walked up shooting - We can help.
